Two options for your bikes (not supplied): Bring your own or rent on site. You'll find two rental companies in Tournon, where the boat departs (Intersport -Rond Point de l'Octroi- Tel: 04 75 08 54 17 or Station Bee's 8 place Rampon- Tel: 07 85 85 65 83).
Day 1: Tournon-sur-Rhône- Le Cheylard
Distance: 84 km (partly by boat and partly by bike)
Take your bikes for a cruise along the Rhône aboard the Canotiers du Rhône catamaran. Departure at 8.40am for a 3h15-minute cruise that takes you along this majestic river, passing through two major locks, Beauchastel and Bourg-lès-Valence.
On board, enjoy a leisurely breakfast as the scenery unfolds before your eyes (DDP included).
Arriving at La Voulte sur Rhône, you take your bikes and set off on the Dolce Via, a family-friendly route that winds its way through the heart of the Eyrieux valley. You cycle to Le Cheylard, your stopover for the night.
Day 2: Le Cheylard- Tournon-sur-Rhône
Distance: 51 km (partly by bike and partly by tourist train)
Back on the road, leaving the Eyrieux valley behind you, you'll take in the sights and sounds of the many bridges and viaducts along the way. You'll marvel at the views over Lac des Collanges and the Boutières and Monts d'Ardèche landscapes, with Mont Gerbier de Jonc in the background. You'll then reach Lamastre, where you and your bikes will board the Mastrou, the legendary steam train, for a trip back in time. The track, cut into the side of the cliff, offers an exceptional view of the Gorges du Doux, and is only possible by train!
Once you've arrived at Tournon Saint-Jean station, you'll put your bike back on to cover the few kilometers that separate you from the town of Tournon, your starting point and final destination on this beautiful journey.
Please note that bike trailers and cargo bikes cannot be loaded onto the boat.
